Current Movies

Read different reviews gave to me the experience to writing my own one. I read about two movies,The Proposal and I love You Man .Some reviews I agree, but some other I didn’t. I think review can be right, but sometime wrong. Everyone has different idea of what is good or bad.I didn't sow some many critics for "The Proposal" but  I sow a lot of critics for the movie "I Love Men", and I didn’t agree with it. The main actor is naturally fun ,and the movie has fun plot. It is a kind of comedic give to me the desire to still watching . The day I watched this movie,I heard almost of  people said good things about it. I don't understand why these critics review.

Movie Review

   The movie is rated PG, and it was set in Philadelphia, PA in 1976-. The director is John G Avildsen. The main actor is Sylvester Stallone who plays Rocky Balboa. At the beginning of the movie, Sylvester Stallone plays a guy that doesn’t have much money. He is beginning to feel unimportant in this world. In the half part of the movie Rocky start to have success and have a big opportunity of his life, witch was fight with one of the best fighter. In the end he didn’t won, but in he minds he really did won. I’ve never seen a movie before that makes me want to get up and exercise. The theme song from Rocky makes me to want to train for the Chicago marathon. It is very energetic. 

My Favorite Singer

       I can’t be without listen to Ana Carolina. She is my favorite singer from Brazil. She has eight albums,and my favorite song is on her 3 album,"Quem de nos dois". Her songs make a lot of sense with my life. The type of music is Music Popular Brazilian. She has smooth voz, and her musics are enjoyable to listen.   

 

 

TV Show

    I had got influenced by American as watching reality shows. Reality show is very popular in the US, all most of channel have a reality show. My favorite TV show is American Next Top Model. It is not an educative program as the show 60 min, but for me is enjoyable. I don’t like to miss any episode. American next top model have been influenced girls all over the US, who wants to be a model. This TV show gives to girls the opportunity to try them carrier as a model. It is one of TV shows that represent are Pop Culture in the US.

Text message

I have never thought how much money I spend with text message. I got a chance to pay more attention after read "As Text Messages Fly, Danger Lurk "article. The article made me to think how much money I can save if since text message, I start talk more by the phone. I had in the past a bad experience as hated my car, while I was driving and text to my friend. That article show is not only me had accident , a lot of people had the same experience as I did. People usually text during drive. Also,has a lot of case ,which people had die because they text during time they crossed a street. Also, the article made me think ,how dependent we are by technology ,and how difficult is to get off it. The article also shows how much time the kids spend text for them friends. I think the kids should study more and text less.

Poster

The poster that I made in class, represent things that is important in my life. My family and my husband are people who I love more than anything. The power girls, is my favorite cartoon. I having fun watching it. One of the girl named Sweet,reminds me my own personality. The picture I chose of a person running,describes my passion for exercising. There also,shows one of my jobs,which is Samba Dancer.

Pop Culture

Since I have been in the US, I had change few things, my time to eat is one of example. I usually have my lunch time every days in the same time, here in the US people usually so busy with work, they don’t think what time is right to eat. Now I'm in the same way. I don’t pay any more attention in my lunchtime; my school and job comes first than anything. Other thing is how I dress up. I usually like to wear small clothing, tight blue jeans with low cut,that I wear anywhere, here in the US, I have to be careful for people do not think I’m strange. I changed my way to dress up to fit better in the US. The last thing is my holidays. The days that I used celebrate in my country is not the same here. For example, Christmas is very different in the US. People here don't make big deal, almost people prefer to stay in home and have a relax time. In my country everybody get together, and make special night, with family, friends, food and music. Now I have Christmas time as American people has, I'm filling as I lost little bit of my traditions, but I got new tradition as a Thanks given day.

I never thought I would have fun to learn pop culture as I had. Pop Culture was something I never payed so much attention before I started this class. I learn that is not only relate to people and place as I though, is much more than that. Today I know what is around the world. What influences people. Today I know how to describe popular cultural and high cultural, before I didn’t have any idea. I'm positive about one thing, that study Pop Culture it will be very useful for my future.
